Major League IV

I found a really interesting article about how this year's Cleveland Indians mirrors the fictional team in 1989's Major League. If you read the article, there really are quite a lot of similarities. Now, I know the Twins will not be making the Playoffs this year, so I have made a choice to root for any/all AL teams in the playoffs (except those evil Yankees). Preferably, I will be rooting for either the Red Sox (after which my Iguana is named) or Cleveland.

But here's the question, What are the best baseball movies ever made? Here's my list of the top 10.

#10 The Natural. I haven't seen it for awhile, so I have to rank it pretty low.

#9 Bull Durham. Just because I haven't seen it in awhile, combined with just a few views, this one ranks pretty low also.

#8 A League of their Own. Admittedly, I loved this movie when it came out, but since then, other movies have knocked it down a few notches.

#7 Mr. 3000. I didn't know a Brewers movie could be this funny.

#6 Bad News Bears (Old version). Aren't underdog stories the best. Gotta love this one.

#5 Eight Men Out. Ok, so this one is about the ChiSox. I wasn't going to watch it, but my wife had it on, and thank goodness she did. A little bit of sports history, with a great cast.

#4 Field of dreams. If you put it in the DVD player, I will watch it.

#3 Fever Pitch. This one could have been number 1, if #2 and #1 weren't made. I absolutely love this movie. I believe it gets it just right on how crazy some people can be about their teams.

#2 Major League. How many times can I watch this movie? It's just laugh out loud funny.

#1 The Sandlot. I just love this movie. There is something simple and pure about a group of kids playing ball in the summer. The best ever.

Ok, so that's my list for today. Ask me tomorrow, and something is bound to be different.

Dude, you need to re-watch Bull Durham. The fact that it's currently trailing a movie starring Madonna is frightening. =)
