Happenings and thoughts

Wow, I have been busy enough that I haven't been able to post a regularly as I would like.

Before I discuss my topic of interest today, a few notes.

1) Dog is in Doggie Jail during the day now. After digging up parts of the kitchen floor, he now has to reside in a large crate/kennel. Don't worry though, he has plenty of room to rest and play in it. Suffice it to say, the crate/kennel takes up a good portion of the kitchen now.

2) I have 2 new students today, one of which I was told about. Yes, 6 weeks into the quarter, 2 students have arrived. 1 is a 9th grader (and I have had them before), and the other is a new 8th grader. The office told me about he 9th grader, but was absolutely shocked when 3 hours later a new 8th grader walked in.

3) Can't wait to read a new book we purchased this weekend. Teacher's have it easy. It looks like one of those books that makes you mad and think.

4) Baseball's regular season is done. The Twins had a less than spectacular season this year. I am rather upset that the Yankee's not only are in the playoffs, but also won the division, again. So my sentimental picks for the World Series will be Padres over Red Sox. Realistically, look for the Red Sox and the Cardinals to be in the World Series again, but this year with the NL winning it.

5) Vikings Suck!!!! Can this team play any worse. Maybe it's time to look at hiring a REAL head coach. After that, lets just revamp every aspect of the team.

6) NHL is back. I am starting to get interested. Hopefully Calgary will have a good team this year.
